PAUSA DEBUT VIDEO

Kulpability is Bassist Jack Kulp’s first solo project. Featuring the music of Steps Ahead, Mike Stern, Jaco Pastorius, Michael Brecker, and Pat Metheny to name just a few. The evening promises to be an eclectic mix of musicality, power, excitement, and just plain good music. Be among the lucky ones to hear this new powerhouse collection of some of Buffalo’s best musicians playing some of the best music ever!

•Jack Kulp

After decades of being “everyone’s bass player”, Bassist Jack Kulp is proud to announce the debut of his first solo project called Kulpability. Jack has played Pausa many times over the years. You may know him from such bands as The Damone Jackson Outcome, Gamalon, Tony Scozzaro trio, Junction West, The Zone, The Jim Tudini Big Band, or maybe you even spotted him playing with Frankie Avalon! The list is long, but if you are a musician, chances are you’ve had Jack on a gig or two over the years! Master of many styles, Jack promises an evening of amazing eclectic music combined with the unexpected explorations from a band of the highest caliber!

•Pat Georger

Keyboardist Pat Georger and Jack go back almost 30 years. Their first collaboration was on Greg Meckes’ critically acclaimed album entitled “Mission” back in 1995. Since then, the musical relationship has grown to an almost psychic recognition of how to make each other sound better! Pat has been featured on a number of local recordings. He has won Best R&B Keyboardist at the Nightlife Buffalo Music Awards and is also a founding member of Wendell Rivera's Latin Jazz Ensemble. Pat currently performs regularly with The Dave Hill Band, The Vincent James Explosion (VJX), The Kenny Parker Project, the WNY Big Band and is the former keyboardist of JJSwing.

•Matt Felski

Drummer Matt Felski first played with Jack in a Jazz trio with Tim Clarke several years ago. Matt left quite a mark on Jack at that gig, making him his first choice to play drums in this new project. Matt’s knowledge of the American Songbook and his raw creativity set him apart. Matt has played and recorded original music with Lazlo Hollyfeld as well as the Genkin Philharmonic. Currently, Matt is channeling his creativity into his own solo project of original material slated for release at the end of 2024.

•Dave Hill

After hearing Guitarist Dave Hill for the first time about a year ago, Jack knew right away he was the missing piece of the puzzle for this project!  Dave cut his teeth in the LA scene starting in 1985. He has released 2 CD’s of his original contemporary jazz and has published music instructional books through Hal Leonard. His 2010CD, “New World” included the legendary Los Angeles Jazz group ,The Yellowjackets. He has also performed in the southern California area with the “Dave Hill Group” appearing at many of the best jazz clubs and festivals in Los Angeles including the world famous “Baked Potato”!

Don’t miss the debut of “Kulpability”!
